“I have been using this Sears bandsaw for decades. Used to get blades from Sears off-shelf in Canada but Sears has closed its Canada operation. Blades would break after years of my occasional hobby use for cutting small pieces of 2-3mm thick plastics. When it breaks, I cannot tell if it breaks at weld point as it is silver colour and very smooth. I ordered some 3/16” and 1/4” width blades from Skookum (total 9 blades). One blade (3/16” 14 tpi) was broken on arrival at weld point. Customer Service was fantastic, replaced it very fast as I learnt that it is very difficult to weld smaller blades properly (needs attention). Unfortunately, the replacement also broke at weld point after less than 5 minutes use. Now I switched to using a 1/4” 10 tpi blade … it is still good (though I have only used it for a total of about 20 minutes. Maybe annealing and buttwelding the 3/16” blade is more of a problem … In the future I will definitely order the ¼” blades ONLY. ”
